Playing Catch Up

Come check out my new blog at BeingGenevieve.com

WOW!  Playing catch up is not easy.  I have just updated our blog for the last month and a half.  We have had a lot that has happened so it took a little while to update this blog.  Last night I took this picture of Braxton and it is amazing how big he is compared to the last time I updated our blog.  Babies grow up so fast!  We just love him and love to see how he continues to develop daily.

Grandma Slaugh's Funeral

January 15-18 we went to St. George for Kevin's grandmother's funeral.  It was fun for me to meet so many of Kevin's relatives that I have never met before.  Kevin's grandmother had 13 children so it was a large group.

All of Julie's siblings: -Back, Left to Right- Reed, Carl, Jim, Leslie, Lindon, Dallan, Bart
-Front, Left to Right- Kathleen, Elaine, Owenna, Rosie, Julie, and Maryanna

Statue at the Mortuary
I have never seen a statue like this and I loved it!

Braxton's 1st Haircut

Braxton was born with quite a bit of dark hair, but after about 4 weeks lost most of it except around the bottom in the back.  His hair is coming back now, but the hair in the back was a lot longer so we decided he needed a haircut just around the back so all his hair would be the same length.

Braxton did great when I cut his hair.  He seemed to kind of enjoy it.

This is how much hair we cut off the back.

Braxton's 1st Shots

This is Braxton after his first shots.  He was so happy when we arrived at the doctors.  He smiled at all the nurses and doctor.  He was having a great time and then they stuck him with all 3 shots at the exact same time and he screamed and cried so loud.  After that he didn't like the nurses much.  He calmed down after a minute and them slept for several hours.  He did much better than I would have done with all those shots.

Weekend in Boise

January 7-10 we went to Boise (about a 4.5 hour drive, one way) because Kevin has a class that was traveling there for a day.  We decided just to drive separate and spent the whole weekend.  It worked out nice because Kevin's parents were already there for the legislature so we stayed with them in their house they rent for the session.  It also was the weekend the Capitol was reopened after a long renovation project.  So, it was fun to be able to see what changes they had made.

Photo Shoot

The beginning of January we found a "Cutest Baby Contest" form in the newspaper and so we did a little photo shoot at home with Braxton.  We did this so we would have a picture to send in with the form.  He was such a trooper!

This is the picture we ended up sending to the newspaper.
Below are a couple other pictures we considered sending.

This picture we thought was funny because I kept saying, "One more smile."  After about 10 minutes of smiles he finally didn't believe me anymore and did this frown.

Christmas 2009

This is Braxton on Christmas morning with Aunt Erin.

This is Christmas evening after the Archibald's arrived.  Ruby (Braxton's cousin) was having fun tickling and playing with Braxton.

Braxton's Blessing

On the December 20, 2009 we blessed Braxton Ritchie Hill in my parent's home.  It was nice to have many family members able to attend.
